Are you following Darwinian medicine on Facebook? If not, then you’re arguably missing out. On the Facebook page you’ll find links to recent studies and research papers, quotes from great evolutionary thinkers, and various Darwinian tidbits. I select and prepare everything that’s posted on the page. I strive to create posts that provide some sort of value to the followers of the page and that I think people will find relevant and interesting. The page is moderated by an Italian evolutionary health aficionado who I’ve commissioned to keep track of some of the goings-on of the Facebook page and this site.
Virtually all of the content that’s put up on the page is also posted here on the site; however, it’s not always formatted in a similar manner. Moreover, it may not stand out as clearly as on Facebook. In other words, if you want to make absolutely sure that you don’t miss out on anything, you should stop by the Facebook page every now and then, irrespective of whether you’re a member of the social media platform or not (One doesn’t have to be on Facebook to see the page).
There are arguably many downsides to social media, and there’s little doubt that much of the information that one can find on Facebook is of questionable quality. That said, social media sites such as Facebook unquestionable provide us with some interesting opportunities. One of the benefits of the platform is that it allows for rapid and easy sharing of small pieces of information.
Thanks for your support and for following Darwinian medicine!
